Short Biography

Dr. Gurgen Petrossian studied law at the Universities of Yerevan, Heidelberg and Erlangen-Nrünberg.

With a professional background spanning more than ten years, he possesses extensive academic and practical experience in the field of international law and human rights.

He teaches international law at the Universities of Erlangen-Nürnberg, Eichstätt-Ingolstadt and Yerevan State University.

He is the Chairman of German-Armenian Lawyers‘ Association and Member of the working group CSR/Human Rights of the German Institute for Compliance (DICO).

Awarded as Legal Advocate of the Year 2023 by Center for Truth and Justice.

With a background that spans both academic and practical experience, Dr. Petrossian has successfully implemented German Act on Corporate Due Diligence in Supply Chains in one of the biggest textile companies.

Dr. Petrossian’s work extends to legal drafting, where he collaborates with partners to create code of conduct, policies, and contractual agreements that align with international guidelines. Moreover, he has a keen eye for ensuring transparency in the supply chain, backed by effective training programs for employees, suppliers, and stakeholders.

In his role, he is instrumental in establishing efficient complaint procedures and maintaining strong collaborations with various stakeholders, including NGOs and government agencies, to stay current with evolving regulations and best practices.

In his professional background, he has provided consultation to different governmental entities on the incorporation of international legal instruments into their national legal frameworks.

Furthermore, Dr. Petrossian’s dedication to human rights extends beyond his corporate work. He chairs the German-Armenian Lawyers’ Association, overseeing the sharing of knowledge and professional expertise among members.
